Dev.Mag issue 22 PDF Print E-mail

Dev.Mag 22 sports a stunning surprise redesign and has been widely hailed as the best issue yet (although the Dev.Mag team tend to one-up themselves in herculean effort after mythic feat every month anyway).

In this issue:
· A feature interview with yours truly, I'm not good at self-publicity...
· Reviews of Tribly: The Art of Theft, The Family Treasure and Sumotori Dreams.
· Tutorials on developing game backgrounds in Photoshop, procedural level generation, a rundown of design documents, dealing with criticism constructively and a study of time limits and their application in games.
· Fittingly, issue 22 ends with a look back at Dev.Mag over the past two years for a bit of nostalgia and a chance to be stunned by the phenomenal growth of the magazine.

It's with sadness that we bid farewell to Rodain "Nandrew" Joubert as editor this issue, he's stepping down due to Real Life™ intrusions and handing the reigns over to deputy editor Claudio "Chippit" de Sa. Nandrew took Dev.Mag to where it is today with his vision and phenomenal amounts of hard work. Thankfully he won't be leaving the community and will stay involved, if only to a slightly lesser degree... That said, Chippit is one of the most prolific community members and we're sure he'll be able to guide Dev.Mag into the future with grace and poise (hah! I've always wanted to say that line!), so expect more cool things from the Dev.Mag squad.
